Sony Play Station , Nintendo Wii and Pokemon cards are some of the modern toys played in Japan and around the world today. But, have you ever wondered what kinds of toys were played in Japan hundreds of years ago? In this Traditional Toys incursion, students will enjoy playing with some popular wooden toys including the kendama, bamboo dragonfly, daruma otoshi, hagoita and test their balancing skills on the bamboo horses! Students will work as a team as they carry a “Mikoshi” around the room, chanting “Washoi,” “ Washoi,” as they keep their Daruma standing in their vehicles without toppling over.
